The places we book
We own no lodges; we choose them. Every one of the 46 places here is named in one of our 48 itineraries, so this is not a brochure of everything in Tanzania, it is where our guests actually sleep. Each page says what the place is, why we use it, and which trips stay there.
Three-star lodges and permanent tented camps: en suite, hot water, good food, the standard our green-season prices assume.
Four-star: bigger rooms, a pool, a view from the bed. The step up most of our guests take for the Serengeti nights.
The famous names and the small camps with a private plunge pool. Priced on request, and worth asking.
The mainland safaris quote each lodge or similar: the green-season price assumes that property or one of the same standard, and swaps happen when a camp is full or has moved with the herds. We tell you the exact lodge in the proposal, before you pay anything.

Three rules for a bed
A camp on the crater rim beats a grander one an hour away, because the crater at dawn is the point. We pick for where the morning starts.
Only 41 of these pages show the property itself so far; the rest show the area and say so. Lodge photos are added as the lodges send them, never borrowed from the internet.
Every lodge here can be swapped up or down. Tell us what matters, a pool, a view, a price, and the proposal changes with the exact figure next to it.
A lodge in mind that is not here? We book more than we list. Ask.
We reply within 4 working hours. No deposit to ask.
